A&A IN DEPTH
LOVB Miami Launch

LOVB Miami announced its ownership group this week, and 12 people it named are current or former athletes.
Lisa Leslie and Sha'Carri Richardson lead the list, along with Champ Bailey, Carlos Dunlap, Ryan Clark, Braxton Berrios, and six other athletes, mostly volleyball Olympians.
The institutional money comes from Suprette, Jett Sports, Fifth Down Capital, and the family office of Tiger Global founder Chase Coleman. The league did not disclose the expansion fee. Forbes reported $20 million, citing one person with knowledge of the deal.
Athletes are all over LOVB. The San Francisco Signal's ownership group includes 16 athletes, among them Abby Wambach, Brandi Chastain, Natalie Coughlin, and Kelsey Robinson Cook. Reggie Bush and Terrence Murphy bought LOVB Salt Lake in March through their fund, Synergy Sports Capital. Jordan Larson headlines the group that owns LOVB Nebraska. At the league level, the investors include Billie Jean King, Kevin Durant, Lindsey Vonn, Jayson Tatum, and Candace Parker.
The league has grown fast since its January 2025 launch. LOVB started with 6 teams and will play its third season with 10. It has raised at least $160 million, USA Network drew 7.5 million total viewers for its 2026 LOVB coverage, up 133% from 2025, and the first championship match averaged a league record 163,000 viewers. LOVB has more than 30 commercial partners, including Chase, adidas, and SKIMS. The new season opens December 16 in San Antonio.
Cleveland, Detroit, and Philadelphia each paid $250 million for WNBA expansion teams. LOVB Miami's reported price is $20 million, meaning an athlete's check can buy a substantial ownership position at that entry point.
RETURN ON ATHLETE
KD x CeraVe

The Deal: In February 2026, CeraVe ran a 3-week campaign with Kevin Durant called "New Face of Legs." The idea came from an ongoing joke about Durant's dry legs; his first video answered that joke with a long camera pan across his legs. Most of the campaign ran on social, with Durant posting the campaign to X and Instagram, though it also ran on TV.
The Spend: CeraVe has not disclosed its media spend, production budget or Durant's fee.
The Result: CeraVe reported a 43% sales lift. The campaign drew 83 million organic video views and more than 4.1 billion PR impressions. Durant's first post was a top-10 US post on X by organic engagement. James Rowe, president of OBB Bolded, said, "To create any sort of double-digit sales lift is tough to do; 43% is almost unheard of” (Marketing Brew).
Why It Worked: Men were under-indexed for CeraVe. Esther Garcia, GM of CeraVe US, said the goal was to get men, particularly men of color, to use skin care. Durant gave the brand a joke millions of fans already knew, and he told it on X, the platform where he is most active. CeraVe was already working with Durant on a documentary, so the relationship was in place before the campaign. It has continued since: CeraVe celebrated the campaign at Cannes Lions with an event co-hosted by Boardroom, Durant's media company.
THE SCOUTING REPORT
Marcus Jones

Marcus Jones is a cornerback and punt returner in his 5th season with the New England Patriots. New England drafted him in the 3rd round in 2022 out of Houston, and he made All-Pro as a rookie after leading the NFL in punt return yards. In October 2025, the Patriots signed him to a 3-year, $36 million extension that runs through 2028.
Off the field, Jones has invested in companies across beverages and consumer goods, and he works with banks and credit unions on financial literacy programs. He also voiced a character in an upcoming animated film alongside Halle Bailey and Ludacris. He looks for long-term partners and turns down projects that lack a defined scope.
Next up, he wants to work with media companies and health and wellness brands, and he has experience in broadcasting and color grading. He is also open to paid speaking on leadership, discipline and life lessons through sports. In film, he wants to connect companies with industry professionals he knows.
