EXPO WEST
3 thoughts on the largest CPG trade show in the U.S.

Yesterday I spent 12 hours chatting with the top up and coming CPG brands, particularly those who are targeting active lifestyle consumers (+ athletes). Here are three quick takeaways from it.

1. Protein Infused __ (fill in the blank).

I saw a lot of brands make a conscious effort to insert more protein into food you wouldn’t assume had that much.

2. Recovery and Mood.

Two spaces that were on fire yesterday. I saw it with Beverage, Pouches, Lotion, Shampoo, etc.

3. Guys… athletes can eat snacks.

After chatting with multiple brands, there seems to be a misconception of an athlete’s diet and interests. Athletes like chocolate, athletes like candy lol. If it tastes good and it’s a little healthier, there’s potential there.

CALODAR
The Future of Macro Tracking

Ok, this is the future. My friend Avner is building the easiest nutrition monitoring technology with Calodar.

With your iPhone camera you now can take a photo of your food, and Calodar’s AI patented technology can detect different amounts of protein, carbs, fat, and more.

It will also help you document and journal the nutrients. Avner is being advised by professional athletes and would like to get more on board.

Calodar fitness is now starting a limited release with selected athletes and teams. Members our community are invited to join here.
