Since turning pro at 12, Anna Leigh (ALW) has been homeschooled in order to balance gold medals with continuous education. So was I skeptical of the business-related talking points before we recorded. What would an 18 year old know about valuing brand deals, equity, and the like?
It turns out underestimating ALW is a bad idea. She has gotten a complete street education.
She's played with entrepreneurs, billionaires, and has done ample deals with brands. She's seen more contracts than most Harvard Business School students. She also owns already equity in a variety of companies and understands the value of being early in something you align with.

In a recent Athletic article, Texas Tech Quarterback Behren Morton stated he’s using a portion of his NIL money to buy 150 acres of land near Cross Plains, Texas, which he plans to lease out to Hunters when he’s not there.
“It’s 30 minutes from my parents’ house” Morton said. “It has some fishing tanks on it, little elevation change so a lot of deer, pigs, varmints, ducks, everything.”
Behren is 23 years old living a 40 year old Texan’s dream. Buy your 100+ acres, sit back, watch it compound. This headline won’t go viral— it’s not sexy or controversial, but one of my favorites in a while.
