A&A TOUR
Who’s in LA next week?

The Athletes & Assets™ tour continues in Santa Monica, CA next week! While that usually means we're doing a podcast episode, this trip is different.

Casey and I will be in town meeting with select athletes, sports creators, agencies, and family offices to chat about our favorite word in the dictionary. Equity.

While we can't meet with everyone, we have a few more time slots open in Santa Monica to grab coffee with groups looking to get educated and plugged into our community. Please reach out and I will be as responsive as possible.

RHOBACK

Here’s why your athlete client is never “too small of an athlete”

Rhoback is a great story in my opinion. They partnered with 5,000 rising college athletes over the past 4 years while every other large brand like Nike and Adidas has been focusing on the larger pro athletes.

Safe to say Rhoback targeting the risers has paid off. It’s reported they now have licensing agreements with 50 schools across the country and 8 figures + a year in revenue.

The majority of Division 1 athletes can partner with rising brands. You just have to know where to look for your clients. While Rhoback may have offered cash the next Rhoback is alive, well, and searching for equity partners.

For startups out there, do not neglect the college landscape. Athletes and their representation understand the value of equity. Because look, unless you’re going to outbid Rhoback in cash, you need to find other ways to get the shirts on home team 🤷🏻‍♂️

JAY WILLIAMS

Do you have your Umbrella?

The internet is starting to provide information that’d you have to dig out in business school or through a sit down meeting with a FA. Of course you have to synthesize whether information is accurate or not.

“If your LLC can’t ring-fence capital, shield assets, or outpace the IRS—it’s not an enterprise. It’s exposure.”

“A shell without structure doesn’t leave a legacy, it leaves a damn mess”

Another solid piece from Jay Williams. We’re hiring here at A&A!!
