Let’s skip the - HAHAAAA,
BAANNGG! Shoutout to Huel for being the first brand name sponsor of The Athletes & Assets™ podcast with Noah Lack. We view our brand and community as a temple, and we’ve been cautious about who we’ve let in.
We believe Huel’s mission is fit to enter, and we are grateful for their belief in us. You will start to see their product on our podcasts later this month.
This allows us to take another leap to nourish our community. For our platform members and companies, that means developing a better user experience. For everyone else, FREE Huel protein drinks for the next 10 years using this code! Just kidding.
On a serious note, an athlete-aligned investor who I respect tremendously asked a great question this week…
❝
"We get plenty of deal flow, why do we need your platform?"
Response: The best chefs don’t stop sourcing the best ingredients. You can only ignore a high value supplier you know will elevate your menu for so long :)👨🏻🍳
Especially if he’s bringing Series A deals to the chefs...

PODCAST
Please Welcome Golden State Warriors’ Moses Moody to the Athletes & Assets™ Community!
Our first podcast in San Francisco this year since January. So much for home base!
But we appreciate Moses stopping by. Shoutout to our friends at Klutch as well, more on the way soon.
ATHLETE SHARK TANK
GIVING STARTUPS SHINE…
I want thank everyone who reached out regarding our Athlete Shark Tank series, and commend Damyean Dotson for joining the show as a guest co-host to try this new content style.
I am going to keep it 💯 as always… The first half of the pod went well during our hoops discussion, but the Shark Tank segment of the podcast didn’t go as well as we hoped, as we found it hard to format. I think we took too long going through slides and we went too in-depth. While founders and investors may enjoy that, we don’t think it made for the best content.
Anyways, we’ll get better, but big shoutout to Shift, Umbrella, and Princeton Pacific for appearing on our first taping! We’re excited about what they’re working on (That’s why we invited them on the show in the first place).
Aside from that, Dot and I chatted a bunch about basketball and the NBA finals. You can check it out below.
WARRRIORRRSS
A SHORT STORY…
During Dreamforce, Salesforce's biggest event, there was special meet and greet with Marc Benioff, Chair & CEO. Moses Moody scores an invitation to the event. He's invested in multiple VC funds and loves learning about tech, so why not? What a great opportunity.
Moses goes to the top floor, excited to make an impression in the room. I mean, who else in the NBA could possibly know about this? As soon as Moses walks in, he sees Andre Iguodala and former Golden State Warriors GM Bob Myers front and center amongst important Silicon Valley decision makers, not knowing they'd be in attendance. While it was funny to see his former teammate, it was not a surprise.
This short story is funny for those that get the irony. There’s not many other sports organizations in the world where you play with your teammate in practice, say goodbye for the day, and then accidentally reconnect at the nerdy tech meet up.
But that’s being a Warrior. An opportunity to leverage the on-court success for an off-court network in tech that many dream of. A culture of letting your guard down, stepping outside of your comfort zone, learning about the future being built by people in your backyard, which allows to reap incredible benefits long after your career has passed.
