DEEP TECH

Moses Moody’s Approach To Venture Capital

It was fascinating to hear Moses chat about his interest in many Deep tech companies. Moses shares how Reflect Orbital, Rainmaker, and Poseidon make Venture Capital a fascinating space for him to learn and invest in.

This clip was especially one of my favorite moments from the episode.

SNACK IT LIKE BECKHAM

The Athlete to CPG Pipeline Continues…

Source: BEEUP

Soccer Superstar David Beckham picked up beekeeping as a hobby after retiring from soccer. This has led to an infatuation with honey, and David has seen it become a natural energy booster for kids.

David partnered with serial entrepreneur, Shaun Neff, to make BEEUP, a fruit snack with honey as a core ingredient, targeting the youth sports market. BEEUP is now being sold in many Targets on day one.

My take on this relates to the macro trend. It’s becoming the standard for successful CPG brands to partner with people of mass influence, acquiring distribution from the onset. Athletes in particular will continue to partner with proven operators like Shaun to build brands that can get into Target, Whole Foods, and Walmart, earlier than they would otherwise.

But what about CPG founders who don’t have inroads with athletes? There are so many worthy CPG products, but how do you partner with your influencer of choice? Here’s the better question, how do they find you and your products?

We’re proud to share we’ve been working to solve this problem, and have some incredible CPG brands listed on our platform looking for athlete partners.
